About Storyworth

Storyworth’s purpose is to help people record and save memories meaningful to their lives. We offer services that help people or groups to record their stories and print them in beautiful keepsake books.

Our work is truly worthwhile. Many of our customers describe our products as the best gifts they’ve ever given or received. We bring people closer to the people who matter most to them, and the books we print will be passed down for generations.

We’re a sustainable business. Our business model is aligned with our customers’ interests. We’re highly profitable, so we don’t worry about runway. We’re cash flow positive with ample cash on hand, so we don’t need to fundraise. We have multiple customer acquisition channels operating at scale. We’ve been around since 2012.

We’re independent. We raised money from YCombinator, Felicis and others, but have since bought out our institutional investors. We have only a handful of angel investors left on the cap table, so we don’t have any external pressures to hit specific metrics or milestones. We have a deep network of trusted advisors.

We’re an unusually small team for our revenue, and we intend to keep it that way. We get a lot done with little overhead by rigorously selecting a great set of long term partners – agencies, consultants and contractors. We believe this will be an increasingly common way of working.

About You

You are an optimist and an all around good human being. Life is short and you want to work with people you love. You are kind, generous, and empathetic. You are honest and trustworthy. You want to work every day with positive people who make your day better. You want to look forward to the few meetings on your calendar.

You are ambitious, across all aspects of your life. You have the talent to have a meaningful impact, and you want to make the most of it. But your career cannot come at the expense of your family, friends and personal passions. You believe these things aren’t in conflict, but that you can excel at all of them (we call this being Pareto Ambitious).

You value time and freedom. You want your work in harmony with your life. You want to pick your kids up from school, go for a walk with a friend, care for your aging parents, and/or surf every morning while the waves are good. You want the option to move to a different state or country, for a few months or forever. You’re comfortable working remotely, either from home or from a local co-working space.

You care deeply about doing great work. You are among the best at your craft. You have the choice of where to work and with whom, and you want to make sure that you’re doing something worthwhile. You hold yourself accountable, the team can always rely on you to deliver, just like you can rely on them. You thrive when you are given responsibility and autonomy. You’re an excellent communicator, both when it comes to business and when it comes to feelings.

You don’t aspire to be a people manager. You want a role where you don’t have to spend your days in meetings, interviews and 1:1s. You like the idea of building the largest company with the fewest employees, with 1/10th the overhead of any other company of the same scale.

Your ideal outcome is a long term relationship. This is a role you’d be happy in for the rest of your career, not a step on the way to being a founder, a VP, or a retiree. You know such commitment has to be earned, and that life happens and plans change, but you think of the opportunity as open-ended.

Creative Strategist

You’re responsible for telling our story to prospective customers across paid social advertising platforms. You’ll shape how we show up in the world — from the first ad someone sees to the moment they become a customer.

You have experience owning a creative roadmap. You know how to take business goals, audience insights, and brand guidelines and turn them into a clear plan for creative development. You’re able to prioritize which campaigns matter most.

You are data-driven and have a strong opinion about testing. You believe creative testing is about more than “what works”; it’s about understanding why something works and using that insight to inspire future campaigns. You’re comfortable helping our buyers design creative tests, interpreting results, and turning them into actionable next steps for both internal teams and external partners.

You are process-oriented. You can coordinate production across external partners, freelancers, and internal teams to efficiently deliver high-quality, distinctive creative. You have a network of cost-effective partners to tap into and know how to brief, give feedback, and approve ads across multiple campaigns at once — with ideas for scaling production as we grow.

You are endlessly curious and experimental. You see every campaign as a chance to learn. You can dream up new campaign angles, explore emerging ad formats, and bring fresh thinking to our creative while staying true to our brand.
